Operation Currywurst 10 Posted June 7, 2009 Complex simulation games tend have a fanbase which creates a lot of small and big mods which of course is awesome but also very difficult to handle in terms of what mods are good and which ones you want to have installed. How about an "official" community patch in a couple of months? This patch would combine the best mods/missions that dont have any drawbacks and only add features/content/options. I got this idea from x3:reunion which is also quite a complex game. The developer offered a download with severell community made mods combined where you could be sure that these mods work well together and have a high quality. What do you think about this? Griswoldz 10 Posted June 7, 2009 This could actually work. I still remember how many problems i had with getting most popular OFP mods. Brr. Perhaps we could get a monthly vote feature on more known mods, which would get added in next game patch?
ahmedjbh 0 Posted June 7, 2009 very good idea as it seems that certain mods are getting you kicked in arma2 etc. If anyone remembers falcon 4.0? basically a game made of lots of different mods. The dance, lol, thats that they used to call the process of installing all the different updates until a comapny released 4.0 with all the mods and updates in one install. Operation Currywurst 10 Posted June 7, 2009 Oblivion even had an extra mod that was called modmanager where you caould activate and turn off your mods and it would tell you wether they work together or not.
Defunkt 431 Posted June 7, 2009 Isn't this the requirement that A.C.E. ended up filling? I didn't like everything about A.C.E. but on balance it was a very good to have a de facto standard arrive.
ahmedjbh 0 Posted June 7, 2009 hopefully someone from the community can stand in and take on this challenge, i think BI have their hands full already.
