Strange screen thing...

Recommended Posts

Hello, first of all, sorry for my English=)

I got some strange things on my screen when I'm playing Arma. It all begun when my game started to run slower, and I don't know what caused it. I'll be very thankful if I just get some help with my problem.

Here is a pic, you can't really see it because its small but very annoying. One thing that makes it go away for 30 sec is to tab to desktop and back. Any help appreciated!

Sorry, got another problem... it could also be the reason for my Arma being kinda laggy.

When I played a mission with some friends it started out pretty fine, but after awhile it got extremely laggy and I had like 15-20 fps. Then I saw that my Arma only uses 499.999 ram. Maybe if I raise so it can use 1gb it will be better?

try adding -maxmem=1024 to the end of youre desktop shortcut.

According to the developers it is no longer necessary to define memory usage but i have seen definite differences in behavior, on later versions, with and without the switch.

also when ingame, instead of ALT-Tabbing:

Hit left shift and - together, then type FLUSH.

You should see the screen go black and say recieving, this flushes the GPU memory (IIRC) and can help stave off certain engine issues.

It's the minus key above your numeric keys.

What? Well maxmemory is not the problem because my Arma gets really laggy even with 350mb ram. Something is wrong... Gonna check my temp on gpu and cpu and see if I thats the problem.

Im gonna try that later, I am not on that computer right now.

Yes maybe. I think I'll reinstall whole windows instead. And one more thing, a friend told me that it could cause some performance drop if I had 2 harddrives with one as 500Gb and one 300? Don't make any sence to me but who knows..
