troydt 10 Posted April 15, 2009 Hi all, I've just installed ArmA: Gold from Atari (PC DVD). I have an HDMI Monitor (1680 x 1050 - 60) and get a Signal Out of Range error as ArmA opens on a black screen. I suspect ArmA is trying to set my video card to something the monitor does not do. I've tried setting Windows (XP) to 1280 x 1024 to see if that would get everything lined up, but with no effect. I've also installed versions 1.08 and 1.14 with no effect. Is there a file I can modify that sets the resolution, I can't get to the settings screen in-game. Or swap my T.V. monitor out for a 'monitor' and change settings, then re-connect my HDMI monitor? Thx Mr. T
[frl]myke 14 Posted April 15, 2009 Search for the file arma.cfg (it's not in the game directory but somewhere at "My Documents") and delete it. Then restart arma. After this you'll have to re-adjust all video settings ingame but besides this it has no downgrades.

xmongx 0 Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) If you are getting that message it means that ArmA is starting with a resolution that your monitor does not support. Rather than delete the arma.cfg open it and find the following lines: Resolution_W=1280; Resolution_H=1024; and refresh=60 (if in doubt leave at 60hz...pretty standard) I run mine at 1280x1024@60hz Replace those values with a resolution and frequency you are sure your monitor supports and hey presto...no more err0r.
