Binkowski 26 Posted December 27, 2008 Just configure your controls and set them to your joystick. Y-axis, X-axis, Z-axis etc etc. Easy stuff.
malik22 0 Posted December 28, 2008 Thank you it worked it seems my joystick wasnt detected is there a way to lower the sensitivity of just the joystick? And when do I have to put flaps up and gears up before I take off or when?
Mr_Tea 0 Posted December 28, 2008 You should not activate "gear up" before you are airborne. For the sensitivity of the stick, did it came with software to configure it? If so, use that to alter the sensitivity.
malik22 0 Posted December 28, 2008 Thank you and I put gears down before landing correct and how about flaps is it the same thing?
max power 21 Posted December 28, 2008 Thank you and I put gears down before landing correct and how about flaps is it the same thing? Flaps increase lift, and lift decreases as speed decreases. So you want to deploy them when you plan on flying slowly. Commonly, one would use the flaps for takeoff and landing, to shorten the amount of runway needed. So, deploy the flaps before you take off, and then retract them after you have gained enough airspeed to sustain flight without them (like 250 km/h). And deploy them on your landing approach (preferably before your airspeed dips below 250 km/h).
malik22 0 Posted December 28, 2008 Thanks man Ill give it a go I also want to start playing some mods can I install ACE,FDF and slx without them conflicting with eachother do they work independently?
max power 21 Posted December 28, 2008 Addons and conflicts are a complicated business. Â Generally, you should only be using one full conversion mod. Â You can use different addons at the same time, like tanks and unit replacements, as long as they don't alter the same aspects of the game. Â 2 sound mods, for instance, would likely either end up with one taking total precedence of the other one, or with odd behaviour. Â That said, I've found FDF to be addon friendly, and ACE has some compatibility features. Â For more detailed information, contact the authors of the respective mods in their forum threads. Also note that the flaps on aircraft in ArmA have two settings. One might liken the first setting to be something like 'combat flaps' in il2. This is a little bit of flap to aid in manoeuvring and turning. I haven't really found a use for them in ArmA, and you should make sure your flaps are down all the way for landing and taking off. malik22 0 Posted December 29, 2008 thanks for all you help plaintiff1 how about all my lost saves anyway to get to specific level to continue is there a console command?
max power 21 Posted December 29, 2008 thanks for all you help plaintiff1 how about all my lost saves anyway to get to specific level to continue is there a console command? Saved games are stored in your profile folder under my documents\ArmA or my documents\ArmA Other Profiles\*your profile name* for more specific help I need more information about your problem. I'm not sure what you mean by 'getting to a specific level to continue'. There is a cheat command to bypass the mission you are currently playing.
malik22 0 Posted December 29, 2008 sry what I meant was last time I played arma i was at the DMZ zone but i lost my saves how can I get there without starting all over again?
max power 21 Posted December 29, 2008 If your save files exist they would be in one of those folders. Â You can simply copy them to a new profile, I think. Â If you don't have the files anymore, you can use the end mission cheat to pass all missions up to that point. Â Your profile won't get any points for that, though. To activate the end mission cheat, while you are in a mission, type: (left shift + numpad minus), e, n, d, m, i, s, s, i, o, n No punctuation.
