POTS 0 Posted October 26, 2008 I talked about this in another forum and decided to post it in this forum so it would be looked at more. "With the new micro-ai in arma2, new things are possible. One of them is the ability to use more complex things as cover. Now, won't it be annoying to have AI jump to tank or vehicle cover (non-static cover i would call it) when you don't want them too? This is my solution. How about we make a new waypoint type called Use As Cover. So you could tell them in the editor to move here, use this as cover, or move their and use that as cover. Take for example a tank that is sweeping a city, wouldn't it be nice to have some infantry move along with it and use it as cover, possibly forming a mutual cover relationship with the tank (you could do this with any dynamic source of cover, such as humvee's and cars). But if the AI automaticaly do it, it will be annoying when you don't want them to. So this waypoint idea stops AI from using non-static cover when you don't want them to, and simplifies the process of telling the AI to use non-static cover. Of course, I would want AI to move to cover when they are under fire, so lets make sure that aspect is built on as well. I would like to hear some other peoples thoughts on this, and maybe help direct some suggestions to BIS for it."
Pedgi 0 Posted October 26, 2008 This would actually be pretty useful, I think.
