mrcash2009 0 Posted September 4, 2008 Hi guys, Im trying to find out if you can get COC/CEX (chain of command) to work closely with Mondo Bombs scripts ref the spawning of new units. I asked in the actual COC thread but thats not very active and I guess it realy is a scripting thing ayway. My initial question was : Quote[/b] ]Can CEX dynamical detect and add into its engine/assign a spawned group with a new leader name / leader name not listed in desciption.ext on initialization? Also : Quote[/b] ]What I would like is that when this group gets spawned it spawns with leader with ID name (Checked with Mando in his thread about this and it can be done) ... so after initialisation can CEX be setup to detect this spawn group and then set control/icon in the engine for this newy spawned group so i can control them? If not in CEX a script running that would exec this to CEX? So far spawned groups will land and can be set to playable which is great, but for COC/CEX to etect this spawed group and add an icon for it for control in its engine (or anything spawned like vehicles also) from mando scripts would be very powerful. The main reason for posting in this section is the following. If COC has limitations as it can only set everything its aware of from initialization with description.ext and pre placed units with names. Is there a way in arma's scripting engine that can take an array of a set of units groups in COC's format, with pre-set names for leader(s), that can then be "called" throughout the mission. IE new unit gets spawned by mando which generates a specific name for leader (which can be changed as a variable via radio or something) to pass on-the-fly to COC which in turn will then add an icon to a spawned group to control? I'm just trying to understand if in arma everything is tied to initialization at mission start from description.ext or threes a nifty script way to pass to COC within playing of a mission.
