Bennett1 0 Posted August 2, 2008 I've searched high and low for a solution for this problem, it seems I am the only one to encounter this. When I upgraded my ArmA from 1.08 to 1.14, my sky texture disappeared. Thats right, no clouds, sun and what not. Here is a screen shot from the main menu: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c97/xXArchAngelzXx/Nosky.png Now I've got a major feeling its my Video card; but up until 1.14 I could run arma perfectly with a lovely sky I could gaze into when I got bored of waiting for enemies to come into my sights. My video card is old, but at the moment I cannot afford to build a whole new computer; its a GeForce6200 256mb and my Graphics drivers are up to date. I can run arma on all normal settings without shadows, which I don't mind. Now if anyone knows a solution to this problem, please do help. I can live without the sky, but I just wanna know if there is an actual solution to this problem. Yes, I know BUYING a new Pc is a solution, but as I said; I is poor. Thanks So much, Bennett
Casimir 0 Posted August 2, 2008 I have exactly the same problem and i also have resonable old card Nvidia 7700SE. I also recived this problem while updating from Beta 1.09 to 1.11 I have tried re-installs and countless sky replacment packs but no give. Please we need a memeber of the BI team who may know what is causing this. Even if just to confirm it is out Graphics Cards.
opteryx 1562 Posted August 2, 2008 I get the same thing in Buldozer, to remove it I increase the HDR quality. This isn't available in the normal ingame settings, but if I recall correctly there's an option in some sort of config somewhere.

Daniel 0 Posted August 3, 2008 I'll keep an eye on this. We've got a chap in our unit who's had the same issue since patching, and he's also tried countless sky replacements.
Casimir 0 Posted August 3, 2008 no jazz over here so far. To be honest i wouldnt know where to sart looking. So far ive tried to find a pbo that may contain it or the textures but no go so far in the default addon files. However after opening up the Core PBO i found Skyobjects pd3 but have no way of opening this and assume i will be the seagul anyway. If anyone knows where i may find this let me know or anyone knows how this may be fixed.
opteryx 1562 Posted August 3, 2008 C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\ArmA ArmA.cfg <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">HDRPrecision=8; Try setting the value to 16 or 32. I have no idea if this will solve the problem ingame, but it does help in buldozer.

Eversmen88 0 Posted August 4, 2008 I've got the same problem, and tried both replacing the 1.14 Ca.pbo with the 1.08 one and also the hdr value in the config file. No dice. I'm thinking it's definately got something to do with a display setting no longer being able to render the sky. It's not fixed by the HDR setting, but maybe somewhere else. The textures are all the same, it just can't display them. Does everyone having this problem have a low-end graphics card??? Because i'm thinking there's just some new setting that makes it so older cards can't view it, since there are lots of people not having this problem as well. opteryx 1562 Posted August 4, 2008 Just to clarify a little, when running Buldozer there is no sky texture, but the funky fog thing that's seen in your pic disappears when setting the HDR detail higher. Just thought that it might have an impact.
Casimir 0 Posted August 5, 2008 indeed i recently purchaced a new computer with a 8800GT 1024 mb card and it seems fin on that so as far as i can tell it is the older cards. It means that combat photography wich i have often done does not look decent, it looks fake. I have tried lowering my graphics settings ad raising them but this has no effect.
