Keys and what they do...

Recommended Posts

Most of the keys are self explanatory but BI did a piss poor job of describing some of the more lesser know funtions.

Some I've run across are:

Last Help?? WTH does this do??

Reveal Target?? Does this mean the target is revealed to me or I reveal the target to my team..and if so..how?? Point and click or what??

Swap Gunner. Does this mean I change positions with the gunner or I kick out the present one and get a new one??

Toggle Manual Fire. Well if you have to press the fire button anyway..why the hell toggle it on and off?? Confused.

These are just a few of the keys that I find are very poorly explained and am wondering if anyone has figured out what they are for...if so please let ME know.

Is there anyplace where all the key functions are fully explained??

Last Help?? WTH does this do??

=> now and then you get a helpmessage in the upperleft corner. Pressing this button will show the message again.

Reveal Target?? Does this mean the target is revealed to me or I reveal the target to my team..and if so..how?? Point and click or what??

=>This is actually a quite important button. You can sometimes see an enemy, but you won't report it automatically to your ai soldiers/other soldiers on your side.

When you "reveal target" you'll speak out and tell your squadmembers the location of a target. You'll see that ai under your command mostly won't attack a target unless you reveal it (or unless it starts engaging your team).

Swap Gunner. Does this mean I change positions with the gunner or I kick out the present one and get a new one??

=> i guess it's to indeed swap to a gunner position (will only work with ai or if gunner position is empty, will not work in heli's)

Toggle Manual Fire. Well if you have to press the fire button anyway..why the hell toggle it on and off?? Confused.

=>if you are in a tank/heli/anything with a gunner, the game will split gunner from driver etc.

This means that if you enter say a cobra ALONE the gunner spot will be empty. If you turn on "manual fire" you get control over the guns as well. (no fancy gunview for cobra though) Also if you have an ai gunner in cobra, if you switch to manual fire the gunner will still be usefull for targeting, but you can pull the trigger.
