Interesting topic... I sort of agree but since these types of games never really have much of a story or continuity I don't think anyone would think they'd need to play the earlier games first (see CoD1-3).

Usually when I see a sequel to a game that didn't have the best reception I think that it must be better and many of the problems fixed. There have been some notable exceptions though... hoping ArmA 2 or II or whatever isn't one of them!
