dmitri 0 Posted May 3, 2008 Are objects only able to follow one slope angle, not multiple? Having a problem with longish foliage objects not following my terrain. They jut out when the angle of the terrain changes. Seen it on some OFP converted islands and very occasionally on BIS islands. edit: Hmm, I suppose this isn't really a "problem", rather a reality. I'm guessing the only solution is to break my objects into smaller parts to make it less noticeable. Before I do that, thought I'd see if anyone has found a workaround for this? Linker Split 0 Posted May 5, 2008 if you set in your GEO LOD the named property class bushsoft/bushhard then the foliage will follow the slope of your terrain.
Snake Man 407 Posted May 5, 2008 Join the club. This problem has been known for us a long time now, its been said that the only fix is to use individual vegetation objects.
dmitri 0 Posted May 6, 2008 then the foliage will follow the slope of your terrain. Yup, but only one slope. Meaning, if you have bumpy terrain where the slope angle changes often, the foliage will "float" if it's placed across a change in elevation. I'm going to break my foliage into smaller parts to make it less apparent. There is a limit to how many bushes I can tweak by hand.
Linker Split 0 Posted May 6, 2008 you could try to add in GEO LOD the following named property: placement slopeLandContact then put the LANDCONTACT LOD and add only 2 points, these will indicate the direction of the sloping
