allthumbs 0 Posted February 9, 2008 What does the auto drop down menu in the texture menu do(4x, 8x)? On a modern computer, should I run D3D or D3D T&L? Thanks
Elcivor 0 Posted February 9, 2008 what auto drop down is: Quote[/b] ]AUTO DROP-DOWN determines to what extent OFP should dynamically reduce the texture details during gameplay. A setting of NONE means OFP will not reduce texture detail, resulting in higher quality visuals at the expense of requiring more processor power. Those on lower performing systems may wish to try setting AUTO DROP-DOWN to 4x or 2x to improve performance. and for a modern computer I think Hardware T&L is good.. atleast.. its the same as I use
allthumbs 0 Posted February 9, 2008 so a setting of "none" would provide the best visuals?
Trapper 0 Posted February 9, 2008 It provides 100% stable texture resolution on all objects all the time, while completely removing the chance to gain some more performance in an action loaded situation. I would keep it enabled, as you won't see it at work as long as your system keeps the upper hand.
