plant / tree frame rate drop still an issue ?

lo. I've been away from arma for a fair while (evolution coop was doing my head in, im a multiplayer fan), i've come back recently to find the 1.08 patch as current and the 1.08-9beta out. So i have that installed too.

I'm still having the issue where you get fine framerates which turn to utter rubbish when you move your scope (sniper rifle / acog etc) over foliage. Is this still an issue with arma ? i thought it was meant to be getting fixed ? Is there any way i can work around the problem ? its really annoying.

system specs, nvidia 7800GT 256mb card, 2gb ram, 3500+ cpu (off the top fo my head) -- newest drivers for everything.

It will never be fixed in ArmA1, only optimized, at least thats the last thing I read/heard. ArmA v1.09beta patch works already better.

However, you could install Kegetys his lowplants addon / fix.

It helps the FPS a lot for many many ppl out there. Search should find the addon pretty quick I believe.

And with that graphics card (same as mine), don't turn shader detail above normal. Normal seems ok to me.

Ive got the same card and have always had a problem with scopes/ or zooming on areas with lots of trees and foliage. As already said you should try keygens mod it does help.

thanks for the help dont think this mod was around when i last played. worked pretty well for the frame rate
