Poprawniejsza Polszczyzna [beta]

Recommended Posts

WARNING! Dedicated only for Polish users, others may suffer from messed up codepage.

I'm publishing it here so BIS could see that translation made by LEM (Polish distributor of ArmA) is... hmm.. pathetic... and needs reworking.

This addon is dedicated to Polish ArmA players, and other players don't even have to know about it smile_o.gif

It's not ideal (due to different codepage handling in UI and missions (?) lost some specific Polish letters in some cases). However I currently can't play without this one  smile_o.gif

Modification contains 1.09 beta's modified bin.pbo and language.pbo files. You can't use it in ArmA versions other than 1.09 beta.

Changes:

- menu

- ingame UI

- command menu

- units, vehicles & weapons descriptions and names

- group radio

and also some areas that shouldn't be changed, or have been changed incorrectly causing codepage mistakes for example in standard MP missions...

Edit: ArmA Edit made all my files corrupt :/ that's a shame, I had to use Notepad to bring Polish letters back to game... strange. ANSI coded files seem not to be working correctly.

Hey Zguba.

Luckyly i didn't wait till LEM finally decided to publish ARMA in Poland and I boutght Czech version (now I play with English stringtables) but I had an opportunity to play ARMA's beta version at LEM's office and I saw the terrible Polish translation (AFAIK it didn't get any better in the final version). I even suggested some improvements of the translation to a person at LEM who was responsible for the Polish version and he even put it down in his notebook but i think it didn't go any further.

Anyway it's good you corrected the translation.

Do you think your stringtables would work with Czech version if I wanted to try it?

Afaik ArmA stringtables should be UTF-8.

Yeah, exactly that was the reason smile_o.gif ArmA Edit messed it up completely, I used Notepad to change codepage in each file smile_o.gif

Anyway - I'm going to rewrite these files completely as fast as possible... publishing takes definitely less time than translating.

Try, set language in Your user config file as "Polish" and then put my modified files. Hope it'll work...
