mpantel 0 Posted December 24, 2007 HI I'll like to thank bis for the great program through, but im getting some problems through. Currently ive made a great heightmap, sat and mask textures, for a 20480x20480 size map. everything has worked great so far, I imported the sat and mask png's they turned up great in buldozer. I then closed buldozer, and started to create my roads, with the road tool, but after a while of previewing my progress in buldozer, all the textures completly disapear, even building and road textures!? anyone know how or why this is happening, i cant seem to revert back, to were i did have textures. ive got png and paa's in the layers directory, havent deleted anything yet. Im creating Grenada Island by the way, Â oh, also what are the best roads to use for the road tool? because sometimes segmants will disapear after a while, im using roads asf and cef_d ? also you can get the whole world in 3d data now, in pretty good resoultion too, http://seamless.usgs.gov/ save them as GEOTIFFS, then I load them with a program called global mapper 7, it can then export them into greyscale height map ====== problem solved ====== * my .rvmat's in the layers folder, didnt seem to point to paa's. had to change them. Nicholas Bell 0 Posted December 25, 2007 No idea what's going on. If you are willing to share you source files I would be happy to look at them. Please send me a private message.
Allie 0 Posted December 25, 2007 You have Png's and Paa's in your layers folder, do you also have RVMAT files in there ? I know you have, did all the paths in the RVMAT folders change ?? I mean are the RVMAT files pointing to PNG's Or PAA's ?? They should point to PAA files First time starting bulldozer will convert all for you, i myself still change the png's to paa manually, also the changing of the paths inside the rvmat files i change manually. mpantel 0 Posted December 25, 2007 yes, i do have the rvmat files, ive always was thinking through that its weird that they are always pointing to png's and not paa's!? ive looked at the sample map, and official bis maps, and they seem to be pointing to PAA's not pngs, the only thing I can think of is manualy editing each one in notepad to paa um thats 3000 files! so has everyone been changing the rvmat files? in layers folder? Planck 1 Posted December 25, 2007 I myself have never needed to change the rvmats to point to .paa textures, it is all handled automatically by buldozer and/or the packing tools. Planck
mpantel 0 Posted December 25, 2007 ok thanks for your help, problem solved, i changed png to paa, in those files, and it seems to work everytime now. Dont know why they didnt change in the first place through? mabie because i was playing around with the folder, removing, then putting pack pngs, testing if the map works with or with out them. now, back to the pain of roads got a few 1000 km of roads to make, its a tropical island to, so they are scattered everywhere. Nicholas Bell 0 Posted December 25, 2007 Glad you got it figured out! Looks terrific. Be sure to try it in-game to see how your river works. As I noted in another thread the sea level is different in Bulldozer than in ArmA itself. Curious if you have the same experience or if it's just a problem on my map I've somehow fostered. Allie 0 Posted December 25, 2007 ULTRA EDIT great texteditor too for changing stuff in a thousend files. Looks very nice mate; keep it up. Later, Allie Bythe way, changing the png's to paa's and changing paths in Rvmat's is done quicker manually !!!!! My bulldozer takes about 15 minutes to do it, i manually do it in 3 minutes !!!
