I think it was 10MB, not 2MB...;) it's been more than a decade ago, so I forgot the numbers. But had great fun with it...! Chuck Yeager's air combat was my favorite. yo, Nordin, wait for a few months, get OFP: Resistance, and then if you want, upgrade it. By that time our PCs will be obsolete and aged, so we should get better ones.

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted February 26, 2002 the A-socket is obsolete, so you guys have to buy a new motherboard too before you can upgrade. But me with my Pentium, I can at least keep my RAM and this probably for the next years while upgrading my computer. Expensive PC-800 but fast enough not to slow down any processor. (but why the hell did they change the socket for the PIV, now I need to buy a 478-socket motherboard to go beyond 2 Ghz)
nordin dk 0 Posted February 26, 2002 I have no idea wether or not I will be able to upgrade my processor, without having to by new RAM, new motherboard etc... I'm afraid to start thinking about it. I hate money...no wait, I love money...I want more of them. Do not use a normal disk, because, if you do not arrive at the stage of adding milk (on the one liquid I back too later) to it have sufficient space, which receives to adapt whole milk!

JAP 2 Posted February 26, 2002 BTW, about the AMD vs Intel battle. They are both good ! But you gotta make sure the motherbord is of a good brand, check the AMD and Intel website for recommended hardware. But the most important thing you gotta watch since AMD T-Bird an P 4 is your powersupply ! It has to have enough power, not just the total wattage, but especialy the Ampere to certain components. I ve seen alot of AMD and P4's that crash all the time due to a powersupply that is just insufficient ! Chieftech makes very good powersupplies ( 340W). If you have probs with random crashes, change the powersupply, you ll see ! ( sorry for the spelling faults ) Still you get more power for less money with AMD

So what are you on about? They are not droping it, they offer a second cheaper choice (reaction to bad economic slowdown in the US)! But they officially say that the DDR will probably slow down CPU performance. Look at all the benchmarks that can be found online. I am angry that the PC-800 RAM is so expensive. But I have experienced that you hardly need more than 364MB. So what is the deal about having 500MB?
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted February 26, 2002 PC-800? I don't like it, it is crap for overclocking and the performance gain is not worth the price. The deal about having more than 328 MB Ram is that some people do video/photo editing with their rig, which is VERY memory intensive etc. Then some people wanna run a small server as well. This is where dual processors and 1 GB+ Ram come in.
