bulletninja 0 Posted December 9, 2007 hey guys, ive been doing alot of searching around for a solution for my problem, but no solution, hopee you guys can help me. i reinstalled arma yesterday and patched it up to 1.08 but now when i try to start the game i get BSOD with this 0x0000008E. the only major changes my PC has had since when i used to play before is another 1 GB of ram, and new Drivers for my Gfx card. Running this: GeForce 7900GS Windows XP 2GB DDR2 533 Ram Pentium D 3.0Ghz. 250GB SATA (50 GB Free Space) ArmA European Version patched to 1.08 with international patch. Thanks Heaps. W0lle 1047 Posted December 9, 2007 It might be the additional 1GB, does it have the same timing then the old one? Remove the old 1GB and see if it works with only the new memory installed. Basically and from my own daily work experience, it's best to use only the same memory from one manufacturer. Go back one driver version, 163.71 was working with no problems here with my 7800GS. bulletninja 0 Posted December 9, 2007 Fixed Soundcard issue, interesting thing happend. after removing 2 old 512MB chips, arma didnt BSOD, instead it just said it could not be started, had to close blah blah!. im going to put in the 2 512 Chips, run arma, and see if that works, (if it does i will be mad!, this ram cost me dearly) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

ArmaVidz 0 Posted December 9, 2007 Download Memtest burn the .ISO to a CD, boot with the CD in the CDROM and see if you get any errors coming up. If you receive errors at all, test each stick individually with the same process. If you do get errors A) Your ram is bad B) It wasn't detected properly and you'll have to set the timings for it manually or C) It's not compatible together with your other RAM. If it's not the ram I would inspect your Nvidia Control Panel under 3D Settings and 'play' around in there. And don't forget: RAM errors kill puppies.
