hypno toad 0 Posted December 3, 2007 I have some Afghanistan DTED data, and I want to turn it into gray scale PNG, Wilbur sucks, so it won't let me do it (even though it has an option to) So anyways, does anybody have a good freeware DTED program to make heightmaps? Edge 2 Posted December 5, 2007 Altough I am not 100% sure if they are capable of reading DTED, I would recommend you to try Microdem or 3Dem. If you can access ArcGIS somehow (at work, in university etc.), you can use it to export as grayscale TIFF image.

Edge 2 Posted December 6, 2007 Strange, I have no problems accessing them. Hope you'll be able to get it with download links: http://www.usna.edu/Users....tup.exe http://www.visualizationsoftware.com/3dem/downloads/3dem_setup.exe
opteryx 1562 Posted December 6, 2007 I have access to some quite capable GIS applications, if you like I could convert your topo data into XYZ Grid and/or png grayscale format accompanied by a .pbl config if you like. Contact me via PM for further discussion.
