Intel WebPage QX9650 running at 3.0 GHz 12 MB of total L2 cache 1333 MHz front side bus I have a core 2 duo 6600 now and was able to overclock on air from 2.4ghz to 3.4ghz which is around a 41% increase. So im sure you can overclock 45nm over 50% so your looking at possibl 4.5ghz on air. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
fasad 1 Posted November 22, 2007 This happened quite some time ago, there was a new model released the other day to put AMD in it's place - the QX9770 @ 3200mhz (1600mhz FSB). It's apparently quite power hungry, hot and can be unstable (AnandTech review), so I doubt the days 30+% overclocks are going to continue for much longer. ~3Ghz seems to be a limiting number... edit: On the other hand, I just found this review (Legit Reviews) of the QX9770 that got it to 4400 mhz!.
