Radeon 2900XT problems

Recommended Posts

Hey all, got a problem here and its quite annoying.

ArmA doesnt work properly, when i launch it, its really slow at getting to the main screen, and when it does, the GFX are botched, cant see icons or anything, jsut a bit of sky, thats it lol.

My specs are:

Core2Duo Q6600

6gb DDR2 RAM

Radeon 2900XT

Windows XP64.

Quote[/b] ]to ask someone to pull out dimms just seems idiotic

Maxmem doesn't work. Removing memory physically, or using a modified boot is what has to be done. Having had to do that myself, I think I know sexactly what I'm talking about. icon_rolleyes.gif Although it would indeed be odd to see this in XP rather than Vista.

your windows is probably managing your ram page with an alternative method. dont know really it's maybe case. try to let only 3gb, and let's see if the problem is gone . smile_o.gif

Pulling RAM isn't hard - why not just do it once to see whether it solves the problem then whack it back in? Just so I can see whether the diagnosis is correct.
