NVIDIA 163.71 BETA

Recommended Posts

Seem ok....Arma runs on everything, "Veryhigh" max 30fps all Anti AA off. Resolution does not bare any differences between settings. Example 1024 res still produces the same FPS as 1920x1080 everything maxed.

View distance seems to be the main culprit in any drastic drops.

Noticed that I also had Ntune forcing my AA on...

Still testing......

@Ghost Zulu

Are you running VISTA, judging by the 4G, I guess you're running VISTA. If you're on VISTA, can you run these drivers under XP?

I have found that the 160.03 beta's run ARMA real well, on XP, that is. These even had a built-in ARMA SLI profile.

Yea running Vista...getting a little fed up since all these driver releases come out, but adds very little for a driver sensitive game like this one.

Fixed (Graphical errors-fixed random crash-fixed) But these were fixced with a previous driver not this one. We need FPS and were good.

I have a feeling that since driver 1.08 was probably designed around a previous nvidia driver. This may mean that we need BIS to get another patch going......

Though Im sure thier working on Arma 2, its still in thier best interest to address issues that have plagued this game since release.

I ran HFL2 lastnight to see FPS everything maxed 153 FPS umm?

That's what I thought Ghost when I read your specs. Unfortunately, do not expect great performance with ARMA on VISTA. The fact that your running ARMA with 4G is a feat in itself. I assume you're running VISTA 64 bit as well. At least you're crashing with a black screen!

Do you have a spare hard drive around? I set my system up with a separate HD just for games. I'm still running XP, but I have another set of HD's for everything else. I like it this way because I can select which drive to boot to, plus, my game HD is a very lean install. If you could do something similar and install XP, you would get much better ARMA performance.

Nice rig Ghost. I just got a Q6600 SLACR that I will be upgrading to over the next few months. I'm waiting on Intel's x38/x48 chipset to come out.

Thanks....

Vista 32bit, I do not get crashes at all anymore not after a few driver releases.

WinXP is stable im sure, but it also doesnt have dx10.

A few games being released in the future that keeps me at bay with vista I guess.

I actually have an external drive that I loaded Arma on.. orginally had it on sata's but was told its better to have a seperate gameing drive.

I may try to install XP on a seperate drive..not sure how MS will feel about it, since I have it on another pc in the house.

Thanks for the advice
