The Maxed Out Arma

Recommended Posts

Well display drivers are multi-threaded. So from there should come some benefit from using a multi-core processor. Also how about other running processes which also need a processor core to run on? Like the operating system processes for starters.

That doesn't mean squat to anyone unless you tell us what your system specifications are icon_rolleyes.gif

I CANT play max settings, and i just spent 6000 dollars building a new system.

Vista Ultimate 32 Bit

Intel QX6850 Quad Core 3.0 overclocked to 3.33

4 Gigs Corsair Ram

2 x Segate 500 GB ES drives in Raid 0

TWO PNY 8800 Ultras Factory Overclocked

Creatlive Labs Xi-Fi Platinum (64 MB onboard ram)

Armed Assault still does not play at max settings. I get 15900 on 3D Mark 06. 21000 on 3D Mark05  I play view distance set to 1500, and everything else on Very High.

However, see my other thread, the game does not even load correctly when playing wtih one 8800 Ultra.  Any ideas why??

6 grant for that rig?

I still have no trust in the vista video drivers, and the SP1 could help too, ones it`s out.

I can run ArmA with Vista Home Premium 32bit on very high settings, except view distance. ArmA works great, until it crashes to dektop.

So i play ArmA on Win2K Prof. where it runs not that good with the same settings, but very stable. smile_o.gif

UPDATE:

With newest nvidia drivers, I can now play at my native res of 2560x1600 with SLI enabled.

Most settings set to high-very high

VD=6000 <--With the fog issue...this doesn't change much at any higher setting.

PP=Low

I knew it wasn't ArmA's fault for the earlier problems.

I play with maximum details and view distance, but i have anti aliasing and aniosphoric filtering disabled.. and post processing low, because i dont like the glow look.

i get an occasional unknown crash to desktop once in awhile.

if i turn antialiasing and anipsohric filtering on, they crash often.

my comp should run this game with everything maxed, but errors prevent it. dont know if its arma or because i have an 8800.

I dont seem to have errors like this with other games though.

we'll see how airborne does on the 5th.
