modeling

Recommended Posts

iv never made models for a game or anything, but i was just wondering what animation program you could use and not use for making models for ARMA.

Iv been making models using Animation master for a couple of years (link:  animation master), and i would like to take my skill of animating to making models for ARMA. Do you know if i could make models for ARMA using Animation master or do i have to use a certain kind of program?

You can't do that, but if you can convert your models to 3ds that you can, and if you want to use it into ArmA, you just can import it from the 3ds useing the O2 smile_o.gif.

Animation program?? You need 3d Modeling tool... for ArmA you need, 3d max, maya, Blender(which is free) etc. Any tool that cam be easily imported into the Oxygen.. You need something more advanced then Animation Master...

Is there anyway i could convert a model from animation master over to blender. Because you do make 3d models when you use animation master, and it is a 3d modeling tool.

You can use any modeling program which exports in any of the more common formats.  O2 only imports .3ds though, and it must have KFdata. (as I understand it)

With other formats like .obj just import it into one of the many free 3d programs and export it to .3ds in them.

However I would avoid exporting to .3ds in blender as the python script has KFdata disabled by default.  If you understand python scripting you can just edit it abit, but what I do when I use blender, is save to .OBJ then import it into a freeware program called anim8or.  Once imported  (.obj),  go to Options/Debug and make sure Dummy KFdata is ticked.  Then just export it as .3ds and you can open it in O2.
