pvt.pile 0 Posted August 1, 2007 I am thinking of upgrading my current set up and need some advice on what option i should go for, the main reason for this upgrade is to play Armed Assault at a better frame rate than i am currently getting. I was thinking of either changing my GFX card from a Geforce 7800 GTX to a 8800 GTS 640MB or upgrade my Core duo E6300 to a Core duo E6850 what do you guys think would give me a better FPS the better card or the faster chip? The only reason i have thought of changing my CPU is because they have come down alot in price in the last couple of days and it would be cheaper than buying an 8800 at this point. Any comments welcome thanx
Barry the baldy 0 Posted August 1, 2007 Well I'm running: Core 2 Duo E6750 2GB RAM 8800GTS 320MB and I run the game with everything on high at 1440x900 and never dip below 30fps with a screen full of characters in battle so you should be ok, but I might just be one of the lucky ones who don't end up with crappy FPS with a crzy system. *QcEP*BlackHawk 0 Posted August 1, 2007 Get the 8800 and overclock the CPU you can get major overclocks out of these babies . Even with stock cooling as long as you got decent case ventilation your ok to get a nice overlock. I got 1ghz more out of my e6420 with almost no voltage increase and its still running pretty cool.
