This is my first COOP mission for ARMA. (Dont be alarmed, i am a vet of OFP Coop missions). Its been in development since december last year. Me and my mate have beta tested this map 2 nights every week since. So it whould be bug free.

Only addon needed is included, and its the EditorUpgrade102.

Let me know what you think. Already beta testing my 2nd, and got a couple in develepment.

OVERVIEW:

Mission Name: Operation Sunrise

Game mode: MP: Coop 1-8

Addon's required: EditorUpgrade102 (included in the map rar file)

Respawn: Team spawn in MP.

30 man Platoon to capture Pita.

Features:

- 30 Man Platoon, plenty of live to spawn into

- Ai react to the assault, they dont just wait for you to attack, they counter.

- Final Beta test took me and my mate 3 hours to complete.

- Over 6 Months in development and beta testing.

Core game style: infantry vs infantry & some armour

Scale: about 30 infantry attack force

Played it a couple of times on my own server with 2 team mates.

Couple of observations.

1) Being local to the dedicated server, I loaded up way quicker than my team mates. The first time, I didn't see the intro, I spawned instantly (was squad leader) in a UH60 while my mates were seeing the intro.

2) They reported the machine gunner missed the UH the first time, but when we played it again, I saw the intro and the gunner managed to hit the '60.

3) Above mentioned MG'er doesn't shoot at the most obvious targets.

4) Two of the remaining '60's continually bumped each other after that.

5) The intro is too long. There's too much 'in transit' flying. It's nice, but too long. I turn music off in ArmA so I didn't hear it, and as such, the big file size was rather wasted on me.

6) Maybe a 'skip intro' ability?

Helos bumping is mentioned in the readme, its just the game, they are ment to fly apart, but close. Also limitation of the game is the commie gunner shooting the UH-60. Sometimes he does, sometime he dont, thats why you hear the him shooting somert. Also he shoots the last one cause its on its own, and the others have passed, so he aint got 5 miniguns firing on him.

There is a JIP script, so if you dont want the intro, join 10 sec into the game, you will miss intro, and still be in flight.

Also if you aint got your music on, thats your prob mate, i made it for all those who have music turned on, it helps with the set up to the mission.

All my missions will have music in.

Oh, I know most of the problems are known engine problems, just wanted to be sure you knew they were happening.

I'll be playing it again this evening.

I'd still like a skip intro option.

Are Saves usable in SP. I seem to get a crash if I save right after helo insertion and also when I try to load up that save

@ Manzilla, Its a coop mission, should work in SP, but the only time i played in SP was on my own on a dedi server.

the Missions play so differently when run in SP.

If you get your team mates to leave your slot open, and join once they have started (they are watching the intro) you will skip the intro. JIP to stop you seeing the intro half way through the mission if you join late. Suppose thats only if you are running on a dedi server, or someone else is hosting.

Another problem.

Having sat through the intro again, I was never given the option to get out of the '60 when it landed. The game never came out of intro mode. They took off again and flew away with me still onboard. It stopped overlooking the damaged '60, still with the black bars top and bottom of the screen.

Oddly, fellow players reported me being on the ground where the '60 dropped the troops off. When players killed my character, I was respawned into vacant AI.

Sounds like a prob, with your PC/ARMA installation.

I always play tested it with 3 pcs, 2 player pc and a dedi server and never had problems mentioned.

I have found a vote system that you can turn off the intro, if i get time i will implement it into this mision. Busy with new missions at the mo.

Has anyone tried this in SP? Are you having the load CTD? I thought it may be due to the AddOns I use but I tried it with none( I use a launcher) and I still CTD? I've never been able to get this mission to work but I re dl'd and tried it again but CTD again.

What do I need to do to get this mission to work? Do saves just not work?

It was made as a coop mission, but that shouldnt stop it in SP. It would usually, but there is only 1 grp leader playable in this one.

All addodn info is included. Try launching the mission as a mp, ie host it, or run a dedi on the same machine and run it.

I can play it alright SP but my problem is that I can't load a save. It crashes to desktop, on every load. I thought maybe the addons I'm using are adding to many variables and thus causing the CTD when loading but even if I turn off all my extra addons I use it still crashes.

Just to be clear, I don't have a problem playing the mission SP, I have a problem loading a saved game. It's too bad, this seemed like a great mission.
