Theel 0 Posted July 25, 2007 *Edit* Problem solved, it was with installation, not mod. Mod works great. */Edit* Lol, great you can't edit the topic title. Running Operation Flashpoint Resistance 1.96. I've made sure all the addons and filenames are lowercase. Well I'm running a dedicated linux server and can run other mods. But when I try to run this mod the server fails to start. Strangely it doesn't fail to start and works fine on windows dedicated server. Server log reports this error: No entry 'config.cpp.CfgWorlds'. My only possible conclusion is that cfgworlds.cfg is non-existant and its looking for it in some .pbo. But why isn't it errored out by windows DS? Help would receive a big thanks!
Theel 0 Posted August 3, 2007 I've worked on this a bit, tried looking through config.cfg and making sure the {}; 's was all correct. It seems so, but I just can't think of anything that would stop it from working on linux and not windows. Maybe linux doesn't like how config.cfg is coded? does it need to be turned into a bin maybe? idk please help
.kju 3244 Posted August 3, 2007 hello Theel as far as i know Snake_Man is on vacation these days, so please be patient waiting for his return. did you try searching in the VTE forum? http://tactical.nekromantix.com/forum/index.php in addition post your problem over there too. not sure if VTE uses a similar system to WGL, but its worth a try. check this thread: http://ofpc.de/wargames/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?1368 hope it helps a bit
Theel 0 Posted August 3, 2007 Thank you very much for the reply, I'll try to be more patient. Sadly I've been let down by 3 mods now. Each mod dies when we try to multi-player it. The WW2 (WWII Collection & Invasion44) ones have a texture error, I'm sure someone out there has done work to fix it, but I haven't got around for looking for it. I know that mods work on the server because we use our own mod folder that has all the addons we use. It works great and allows us to disable the addons easier. Just for more info I don't try to run both x_vte and the other mod at the same time. The VTE Forum is locked so I can't register and post my problem I've searched the forum a bit, found this great quote: "We absolutely want to make sure VTE will work on MultiPlayer environment, especially in dedicated (linux) servers. It might not work as of yet, I dont know as I didn't have chance to test." :C I really hope this can be fixed, or its my problem not the mod's. I'm amazed by the work put into this game and these mods. I'm sad that I didn't get into this game earlier. As for your WGL topic link, it doesn't work just takes me to the main forum. I registered and tried searching for linux dedicated server, no entry, and cfg.cfgworlds but didn't see anything related. Thanks again for your reply, if you read this :P *Edit* I fixed the problem, thankfully it was my own fault. This shows how new I'm to the file structure and mod stuff. I didn't know I had to move the .cpp(s) from the mod's bin folder to the server root directory. Thanks to Benu Quote[/b] ]Running wgl on linux is the same as with any other mod: copy it to the linux server, run tolower, copy any cpp files (if there are any) to the server root (btw: wgl does not have any cpp, finmod and ecp do have) and run the server with -mod"wgl". WGL works like a charm on my linux server. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....and+mod */Edit*
