(I'm sorry if this has been explained before.)

I'm not an expert but I see something really strange in the rear aspect of the ingame Cobra. Even for a "Z" model, are the engines this way when looked from behind? I don't know the term in english for the rear part of a turbine, but was it changed in the "Z" model of the Cobra? I mean, even from the pictures posted in this thread I see they are parallel to the side of the fuselage, not perpendicular to the side.

I must assume I must be missing something because it would be such an obvious bug that it would have been corrected and talked about forever, but still.

So if we are 3rd battalion, 1st marines then this is what it should look like during evolution -

THANKS a lot.

Quote[/b] ]...the new suppressor installed on an AH-1W in late March turns the near-vertical engine exhausts horizontally and directs the diluted plume 17 degrees off to the sides to prevent tailboom heating.

So they were infrared suppressors  huh.gif , that explains why not all the pictures show them installed.

Thanks again, that horizontal anomaly biggrin_o.gif looked freaky from the first time I saw it ingame.

The Whiskey Cobra had them too, I think all the twin engined marines cobras had them, but they were installed vertically on a slant. The specific reason they are shaped like above those is so that the exhaust as blown down by the rotars is blown to either side of the tail boom instead of on it. They were having heating problems before.
