This is a long shot.

Change resolution to 1024 x 768 and refresh to 60 in that file.

Maybe youre monitor has trouble displaying 800x600 at 75Hz

Well, after trying this i at least made a tiny bit of progress - i still got a black screen, but it didn't stay black for long...

i got some serious graphical corruption within a few seconds of the black screen, i assume this is what should have been the game menu and the background of that menu:

The image was moving, at probably 1fps.

Because of this, i can safely say i am suffering the same crap these guys are here:

Nothing i can to i spose, the guys in that thread didn't find a solution, and i highly doubt i will too. its funny that all my other games work fine and this one doesn't - i guess i'm not missing much then.

I just downloaded the latest ATI card drivers (7.6, released today) didn't change a thing....

Having the new stuff in computing is always a bad idea.

I had a quick look at the thread and that looks like a graphic issue from that image, I would turn the Graphic Gards Settings to Minimal and work up if you get a picture. Thats from the desktop.

Also set your afinity to single core and see if that helps.
