Nvidia driver with dual core support lots faster?

Recommended Posts

Did the new Nvidia driver with dual core support improve your fps in Arma  any or lots? Anybody know how this new feature uses the second core?

It's hard for me to tell my faster cpu mhz comp died so turned my rendering workstation into an Arma running machine it far out performans the other comp with it's two processors their 300 Mhz  slower but I tried the other comp on V1.05  and the dual one on V1.08 so know most of the performance increase is the new patch.

Moving to TS, seems like a more appropriate location for this topic.

Hi all

In taskmanager performance when I launch ArmA it shows both my cores of my AMD processor spiking and sharing load. I am not sure this says which core is doing what. I think I need to download a piece of CPU monitor software to do that or put the stuff from my development machine on it i dont want to do the latter that machine is suposed to be for gaming only.

I am using an Nvidia 8500 GT on that machine but it is only 1.05 untill securom get their act together and fix 1.08 so that it will boot ArmA.

Kind Regards walkker

Recent releases of Nvidia driver's already have dual core support. ATI drivers have this also.

ATI drivers have this also.

Is there any way to enable/disable it? I would like to see the difference with and without but i cant find anything about it.

Not sure as I have not used ATI card in a while. I know NVidia has the capability to turn it off or on, or just leave it on Auto.

By the way, the 162.15 XP nvidia beta drivers are great so far for my 8800 GTS.
