no tracers for M249?

I noticed the 1.08 patch took out tracers for rifles such as the M16a4, which is realistic and a good thing, but why the SAW? I see the M240 still has them. Is there any way to change this back manually for the SAW?

M16 and M249 use the same bullets in ArmA. Heck even the same magazines. So it's both or neither unless you get a tracers addon (which can do things like every 3rd bullet or only near the bottom of the mag)

I say Thank God they starightened it out. At least you can turn those damn lasers off in sniper rifles!!!! If SAW doesn't fire tracers no biggie - it's still rules ArmA even without tracers. If you like those tracers switch back to Cadet.

anyway, the way the tracers rendered is heavily affected by FPS issus FMO, sometime if your FPS aint fast enought you would only see the rounds long after it left the "barrel"

No, it's a newly finished feature. Before the switch in the difficulty menu didn't do anything.

It's odd, in most games the G36 didn't have tracers anymore but on one server it did, and it was all on 1.08. Can a server force all weapons to have tracers on or off, or what's going on?

My guess is that server was running cadet mode.

In cadet mod all tracers are on, in veteran most are off.
