thr0tt 12 Posted June 6, 2007 Remember it will only be useful or used by games that call these files as far as I am aware so there will no benefit to use them... unless you are able to prove me wrong ?
bravo 6 0 Posted June 8, 2007 @BIS, <ul>will the instalations of DirectX 9.0c June 2007 improve in any way Armed Assault? I was told that all DirectX have improvements on the latest games. I consider Armed Assault one of the latest games atm. Would be nice to have a word from BIS about this concern. Thanks. edit: added link

smellyjelly 0 Posted June 8, 2007 I'll test it... I set up a fps test in the mission editor. Basically it's only my player standing in some bushes while viewing a cliff. Without it I get 17 fps. EDIT: Ok, I'm not sure if it installed correctly. An error came up, but the installation continued. I didn't see any change in fps, but the test was very simple and I didn't go into any cities or have any ai.
suma 8 Posted June 8, 2007 There is no need to download this, as it will not change anything. The core DX9.0 runtime is stable since original 9.0c release, and has not changed since then. The only thing which is changing now is the utility library. The only thing used from the utility library by Armed Assault is the shader compiler. To use the update utility, the game exe needs to be recompiled. As the only important thing which ArmA is using from the utility library is the HLSL compiler, and its 9.0 version is already stable and not being updated any more, no update both on your or our side would change anything.
