Skydawg_GFA 0 Posted May 29, 2007 I purchased Arma the day it was released in US. I never played OFP so this may be something that has long beed addressed or already addressed on the forum (although I searched for days). But I'm having problems with the game even recognizing all my base DX buttons let alone all the hatswitches. I mean once you click on an item to assign a key, I don't even see the DX buttons as an option on the right hand menu options. And if I just try and click the button to assign, it either does absolutely nothing or it acts like the tab key and pans through different menus/buttons on the screen. Now I know someone is going to tell me to just use the SST software to program the default key commands to buttons on my joystick. But one, I shouldn't have to do this for a DX compatible game, and two, I've already tried it and all I get are conflicts with the programmed button also still triggering the default command for that button. I'm about to pull my hair out. Is there any way to hack the config to recognize all the buttons on the joystick or any way to get around this issue. This is the only game that I've ever had this problem. Other than that, I'm addicted. I'm an Arma junky. But man would I like to be able to use my joystick fully. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Skydawg_GFA 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Oh, and I'm running 1.07 with hotfix for whats its worth. But problem appears to be both with retail 1.06 and 1.
Vassago 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Well for starters, yes, you should always use the profiler software :P It's more robust than assigning it normally. Also, ArmA has a plethora of joystick support issues. I hope they're fixed in the final 1.07 release. Multiple joysticks don't work properly, and many people (myself included) have issues with using the full range of motion on the Z axis (throttle). The joystick support is simply horrible in ArmA. That's just fact. We can only hope that BIS will fix these issues.
M.Andersson(SWE) 4 Posted May 30, 2007 Ur in for a hard drive here my friend.. Im using a comon Flightstick with 12 buttons.. I can only program 10 of them. ArmA doesent seem to allow the other 2.. So with that multitude of buttons on the X45 plus the rudder will be VERRY hard to get to work..
AXR 0 Posted May 30, 2007 I figured a way to trick the game to almost make full use of the Saitek x-52 while using my Logitech G-25 wheel. Use the profiler and just assign regular keystrokes to any controller buttons you want to use on the Saitek since the G-25 seems to always take over control as the single joystick ArmA sees right now. I use the gas and brake as flight pedals for aircraft too. The actual flight stick I have set to mouse x and y for a true axis support. All other axis on the Saitek unfortunately has to be set as bands and buttons. But at least for now I can fly and drive with the right "pit" controllers.
