bangcraher 0 Posted February 15, 2002 (I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I didn't follow the forum at start.) Do you remember the first mission, at the end they told something like "will you surrender" and other things, but in the final version of the game the tanks were removed from mission and you hadn't any problem to seize the town. R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted February 15, 2002 The tanks are back again and you have to retreat to the beach and the helicopter gives you a ride to safety. This time it doesn't get shot down.
Major Fubar 0 Posted February 15, 2002 I successfully completed that demo mission by cheating a little (well, not following the plan anyway). I stole a jeep, found an RPG soldier and wasted him, took his launcher, then drove up to the where the tank reinforcements came from. I used a few hit and run strikes on the tanks (& BMP), which got 'em all pissed off, and looking for me. They wasted so much time trying to hunt me down that the rest of my squad (AI) successfully held the town! Made a pleasant change from making it to the evac chopper and then getting blown outta the sky by the Shilka
Guest Posted February 15, 2002 That's not cheating; it's using resources, that's waht OFP is about. You can find your own solutions and you don't have to follow a scripted path.
Damage Inc 0 Posted February 15, 2002 If you jump out of the helicopter before it's shot down you become invincible
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted February 15, 2002 I didn't get shot down when I tried it with 1.42.
Damage Inc 0 Posted February 15, 2002 It only works in the actual demo.
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted February 15, 2002 I know. I found it out on the very first day the demo came out. I believe they removed the part where the helicopter gets shot down because they removed the allowdamage-command.
shadow 6 Posted February 15, 2002 Would be nice if BIS made a PART-2 of that mission. To continue where the demo-mission left off. You're alone and outnumbered in enemy territory and have to escape back to friendly lines...
Damage Inc 0 Posted February 15, 2002 Nah it would be too much like After Montignac.
timmy 0 Posted February 15, 2002 i think abush is the best mission in the game, but it seems like it takes the longest to load for some reason

That mission where you start alone in the woods and have to reach Morton is one of my all time favs
Damage Inc 0 Posted February 15, 2002 It's a great mission but what's the point of having another similar mission?

At least you could use many ends, no? Then it would be nice to replay since you can take other choices (when you take a choice their are missions you wouldn't play, so if you want to play them all, you will have to try all the possibilities). Damage Inc 0 Posted February 16, 2002 Maybe but no need to make a completely similar mission.

To me the hardest kind of mission to make is this escape-type of mission I might give it a shot later. Right now all my time is overbooked for finishing up a campaign and soon afterwards I'm going to make a HUGE mission (maybe split up in several smaller ones (campaign) based on the movie: Behind Enemy Lines.
