Briefing crashes game when added to User/Mission

folder. I have created a mission and when I finish the briefing and install it to the User/Mission/mission.sqm folder, if I pull the mission up in the editor and preview it, OR if I save it as single mission, then try to load it from the single mission menu, it crashes. I have had folks who have done a bit of editing look at the briefing file and they can see no problem.

I have sent the files to a friend, separately, and asked HIM to try and "export to single mission", he has the same problem with the mission. It occurs with every mission I create.

Has anyone else run into this before or have a clue what the problem could be? It's very frustrating to put a lot of effort into both the mission AND the briefing and being unable to share it with the world because the briefing won't join up with the mission file.

Check the FLASHPOINT.RPT file in OFP's base directory to see if there's a report on the incident.

Which tool are you using to edit your briefing file?

It should be notepad, and NOT WinWord.

Briefing editor - I believe I used something called editing assistant and briefing editor - two utilities I dl'd from, I believe, the editing center, and the czech site (can't remember its name). I have also followed templates from a manual published on the editing center. I've created the briefing at least three times by each of these methods and get the same result.

I know its silly but it really is frustrating to spend close to a week working on a mission, several hours drafting a realistic and detailed briefing, and then be unable to join the two.

Avon - I haven't had time to check that yet, but thanks. I had forgotten there was such a file. I'll look at it when I get in tonight.
