v8esprit 0 Posted May 23, 2007 I bought the game and I love the game. Its great. But there is something so basic about it that makes me think twice as to whether or not I want to begin to play. That is the aiming reticule. I really believe that this is something that can be fixed or provided as an toggle selection in the options. Armed Assualt uses a dynamic reticule (aiming crosshair) during manned combat. Your view stays staic and you can move the reticle around. At a certain extreme on the screen, the view will begin to move with the reticle. I understand that this is far more realistic. 95% of all other Fisrt Person Shooters have a static reticle/crosshair that always remains fixed in the center of the screen and the view is dynamic based on mouse movement. I like realisim, but I'm soooo used to playing with a fixed reticle that I have a very difficult time aiming. I have found that my eye uses the environment (peripherally) to aid in aiming. So without any reference points moving in my view as I zero in the reticle, my aim is really poor. I am (desperately) asking for a toggle option in the video or gameplay option screens for a fixed/dynamic crosshair option. Does anyone else care to second the motion? -Lox Thomson San Jose, CA

DaRat 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Have you tried turning the crosshair sensitivity right down? That makes it static It's in the options>controls menu, give it a go and see if that's to your liking

Jack-UK 0 Posted May 23, 2007 if you're talking about the crosshair 'floating' You can set the Float Zone to 0 in your ingame settings in the control area i believe...
Skip_Moniker 0 Posted May 23, 2007 V8, it appears you're having troubleshooting (hehe).
v8esprit 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Man, that sure solved my problem. I rebooted out of Linux and into XP to verify and you are right, the floating thing fixes it. So I went to the US manual to search for an explanation of the floating and it wasn't in there under the options page. So maybe it was introduced after the manual was finalized. Anyway, thanks for the help. -Lox
