dragonfire43560 27 Posted May 23, 2007 Ok i have Athlon 64 3000 Nvidia Geforce 6800 128mb 1 gig ram im running WGL mod with OPF 1.96 at 1024x768 with the visual quality turned up to 3/4ths and the viewing distance at about 1100. Most everything else is turned on. Im not using any other enhancements (not even dxdll) but the game is running VERY slow and choppy. Especially during the night and in forests. Is this normal? If not, what could be wrong?
BlackScorpion 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Well, depends... 1. Have you used the -nosplash and -nomap parameters (used like the -mod= parameter)? 2. OFP is a 2001 game. The game wasn't designed to use dual core and 64-bit processors, and the newest super-duber graphic cards. 3. Try to lower terrain settings. Usually helps a fair bit. 4. Try to improve your settings. Sometimes games have optimal settings for each system, and might actually run better on higher settings. I think some people had issues with LCD and TFT (flat) screens, since they have a "natural" resolution. 5. Try different settings. 6. Run OFP preferences. 7. WGL5 is a bit demanding on some systems, although it should be very noticeable. I myself run WGL5 with normal-low terrain settings, 1280x1024 (60 Hz) and FPS and detail sliders at full. VD at about 900-1500 metres. Framerate is usually between 10-40 fps, but may slow down during noticeable activity. System: 512 MB RAM, AMD Athlon 2800+, Geforce FX 5600.
