Of course it still has to be investigated as BI dont give any service needed to have the game working 100% of time. Hope it helps.

sickboy 13 Posted May 23, 2007 a note before starting, just for details; An ArmA Dedicated Server that has no Mission List configured, will make you wait at "Waiting for Host" forever, aswell as admins that are looking at the mission list/selecting a mission also will leave you at the "Waiting for Host" screen. The problem is in many cases that the firewall isn't correctly configured, or even that the computer has multiple firewalls installed/enabled, and ArmA is still being blocked by another program Also, Firewall-software usually asks to allow a program in the firewall, but many times you can't alt-tab out of the game when it's 'hanging' on MultiPlayer screen and hence you never see this question-box There are a zillion different firewall programs. Some popup blockers contain firewalls. Some bandwidth limiting or measuring programs contain firewalls Some antivirus suites contain firewalls Nvidia Chipset Drivers install an Nvidia NFORCE Network Manager Suite (Firewall), these are known to cause weird and unknown issues, best would be to remove this manager from the system or configure it properly. etc. etc. To get ArmA running properly in MP, all that's needed is: ArmA.exe is allowed in every single firewall application on your system.... (actually it would be best to only activate 1 firewall :PP) NOTE: Closing a firewall program usually never disables the firewall... The firewall program usually is simply a "Configuration Utility" while the real firewall itself runs as a System Service or other kind of Module. Hence incase you want to fully disable a firewall system, the best coarse of action would be disabling the software from within the firewall program "Disable firewall" and in any case of course; Full Removal of the software. If ArmA crashes while connecting to server or Displaying Multiplayer list it is HIGHLY possible that you missed out 1 or more firewall programs.... ArmA clients only make outgoing connections to the gameserverport (Default UDP 2302), and gameserverport+3 (for VoIP, default UDP 2305), hence uPNP framework (a framework for telling your router to forward certain incoming-connections towards your pc) isn't relevant. Most Expert/Professional Firewall systems and Routers also have outgoing-connection protection features, All you need to be certain of is that ArmA can make outgoing-connections to the ArmA Server ports and it should run fine. Reports until now of programs that have been haunting ArmA Players: Norton Antivirus/Internet Security ZoneAlarm Nvidia NFORCE Chipset Network Manager Usually simply bad configuration was the cause of all problems.
