ran 0 Posted February 16, 2002 yes , you can do stuffs using operation flashpoint but only for free because the game engine and system (files type etc etc ...) is the bis property , you can't do something paying without their authorisation and giving them a big part of the benefits because the original game is their propriety look at the xmp.de guys , these sharks : 1 month after the release of flashpoint , they released a new paying campaign it hasn't benn sold a long time because it didn't respect the authors rights ( bi studio for the game and another guy for a free campaign editor ) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

ran 0 Posted February 16, 2002 xmp is often at the limits of the legality they released "beetwen the lines" without asking bis they released a lot of things for the sims and need for speed and not for free and they have sometimes included some freewares done by members of the communauty( of all the communauty concerned ) wich is ILLEGAL you could have at least chosen a better editor than this bunch of sharks at xmp who wants to make money without any real work Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

OFP is using Windows, Direct X and C++ elements, as our Mod uses the Operation Flashpoint Engine ! But as long as you don't change them or sell parts of them, it is absolutely legal !!! This is not the first innofficial addon I had nothing to do with the previous ones, but they were legal, too It is not right to call us illegal and we could blame you for that but we don't we want peace and improve this game by new models and campaigns ! And it is dying more and more cause B.I. doesn't release tools and we have to make our own ones ! or do you still believe that they will release the tools end of that month ?? TheCounter54231 0 Posted February 16, 2002 the earlier releases of XMP are another story we had nothing to do with them we are just 2 ofp freaks working 8 hours a day to make great models and missions and our publisher is xmp ! and we don't have to ask B.I. as they don't have to ask Bill Gates for making windows addons we tried to contact them, but they are very uncooperative in such things ! many webmaster often get pronblems with b.i. members i don't know why they are so unkind but we still love that game after all Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Got it? But that doesn't matter because BIS's legal issues are none of your concern, your only concern should be that YOU are using BIS formats in an addon you intend to sell. Aside from that selling addons is dirty, you are money grabbing and need to be shut down to prevent the community heading towards a disgusting futured of pay-2-play addons that are sub-standard quality. You clearly have no interest in this community or it's direction, you are making a sub-standard addon (when compared to OpV, Invasion1944, WinterMarch etc) and are attempting to charge a large ammount of money for it. TheCounter54231 0 Posted February 16, 2002 i have done addons, mission and i working on a campaign.....and on PoW a sub-standard addon you dont know anything about it, do you ?? you know that 200 pages of scripts we have done ? you know that we are working together with 1944 ?? you call me scum ?? after almos tone year of great free scripts and missions i have done fpr the community ?? how did you get your job as moderator here ? we are making an addon that is devinitely better than that short little RED HAMMER campaign ! i wonder what you are doing to the community in blaming us in that unkind way ! this is the kind of support i really need !
