BigQEd 0 Posted February 13, 2002 BIS... something that is desperately need in the next release is a way to tell WHO IS SPEAKING in game. It is very confusing not knowing who is speaking and constantly having to ask 'who said that?' or the need to learn everyones voices and names that play on a particular server. Hopefully you can make it similar to the Counter-Strike has their chat system where you key the MIC and you name shows up in the window somewhere. And have it so that the MIC maybe doesn't stay OPEN all the time... Keypress talk key release MIC off. Thanks!
ufo_hk 1 Posted February 13, 2002 IMO this seems a realism killer. Why not simply use correct radio procedures - where radio user would ID themselves with call sign or their number? The AI guys are doing it - just follow their lead.
suchey 0 Posted February 13, 2002 I agree that it may hinder realism a bit, however, the feature would certainly help to get rid of the player that comes in and you get to hear them breathe or listen to their radio for the entire match. Perhpas a good work around for this would be to have only the logged in admin be able to see a keyed mic? I suppose that this wouldnt help the players know who is who, but it would resolve the "breathers" and TV watching people. Theres nothing worse than playing in a match and listening to some guy cough and breathe the whole time.
NEO -PZ- 0 Posted February 13, 2002 The sound is crap on my copy's VON. I've wrote about that before. Anyway, I use TeamSound.
ufo_hk 1 Posted February 14, 2002 We also prefer an external voice comms solution and we're using rogerwilco with base station on dedicated server. We've tried Teamspeak and battle communicator (before it be came MS game voice)
