Gorgi Knootewoot 0 Posted February 12, 2002 recently when I play over LAN, I get the message “remember, original games do not fadeâ€. I have an original copy of the game, together with all the original patches up to v1.42 and I have no unofficial addons installed. I play the game over LAN for example with my brother. I think it is stupid to have two of the same expensive game in one house so we buy one. When I want to play over LAN, I start the game and remove the CD and put it in my brothers computer to start the game. Now he is able to join me, but we both get the message . Is this because of the fact we use the same game and basicly he should buy his own OFP? I cannot remember getting this message when playing over GameSpy, and I don’t think I have. First I thought that every game would say it to dicourage people for copying it, but I read on Avon’s FAQ that only illegal games say it. But I have it legal, so I do not understand. Please help!!!!! Gorgi Knootewoot who has original
theavonlady 2 Posted February 12, 2002 You're starting OFP from the same CD, right? What happens is that when both of you connect in a LAN game, the code notices that your player numbers are the same. Hence, FADE kicks in. This won't happen on GS, unless of course, you let someone else install from your CD, they succeeded in correctly duplicating the CD or used a no-CD crack and you both tried playing in the same server simultaneously. Gorgi Knootewoot 0 Posted February 12, 2002 Ok, problem solved. Thanks. But i have over hundred games original, and i think it would be silly that my brothers also have to have them all just to play over LAN. Luckily only OFP is whining about duplicate copies then. For some games we have more originals, because when u remove the CD from the CD-ROM u get a blue screen. This happenes with DiabloII, Sacrifice and some other games. Sometimes a CD-crack helps. Well, now i have to convince my brother he should buy his own OFP . But he is a parasite, who plays my original games and he has only three games of his own. Tell me - do you have to share your girlfriend as well? <span id='postcolor'> No, but to be honest i had to dump her. It was last summer, and she was complaining about me playing to much computergames. She wanted me to do things with her. I thought, well ok, this is going to be fun. And guess what, we saw the Matrix. And a half year long i saw that movie almost every weekend. And she was always complaining about me playing those damn games. So i told her to back off and shut up or she could hit the road. And so she never came back . At least now i have time to finish RedHammer

Major Fubar 0 Posted February 14, 2002 Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Why did it have to be a Thursday, thats my weekly booze-up session at the local! All the involved lads are off blowing their hard earned cash to impress the gf's...leaving me to drink alone! Oh well, guess I better get in the spirit of things *looking round for a tube of KY and an issue of Hustler, or maybe Guns n' Ammo...*
