Average Joe 0 Posted April 19, 2007 AH! Its been so long since Ive waited to get this game and Im pulling my hair out already....within an hour! My Pc specs are; -ATI 512mb x1950XTX -2gb GEIL mem -Intel 6300 core 2duo Okay so the problem initially was this; It was pretty self explanatory and caused ArmA to CTD over and over therefore making me question, was my resoultion too high? Heres my current arma specs. I was running at max res available when suddenly brrrrrrr my pc chokes and Reboots. So I toned down the resolution to 1024x768 presuming my pc couldnt handle max res, lowered all my ingame settings and lowered the Hz [im not sure exactly what it means] and continued to play for a short while before encountering brrrrr *death* again. Pc boots and over again Ive tried low resolutions and tampered with the Hz to yet again be faced with a pc meltdown twice over. So Im out of ideas, this rig is 2weeks old so I hope it isnt a hardware fault but could anyone have faced the same trouble? or know how to fix this. Sorry I wish I had more such as an error report after reboot but I m not even spared one of those, thanks in advance. [PS] Im running with the latest ATI Omega drivers vers 3.8.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted April 19, 2007 Try lowering texture detail instead to normal or lower.
Average Joe 0 Posted April 19, 2007 I have Cameron Ive tried so many settings with the same unexpected crash, there is no lag ingame Infact on high details I seem to get impressive framerates and my pc seems to play smooth. This is like a kick in the balls when riding on a smooth road.
Jack-UK 0 Posted April 19, 2007 Try adding -maxmem=512 to your ArmA shortcut on the Target: field in the properties. If it doesnt work try disabling the Windows Page File and play, if it doesnt crash u'll need to disable it everytime you play because windows seems to be wierd with its page file. (You can access page file settings by Right clicking My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Performance -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory (Change) -> Reduce to 0 Assuming you run XP?
