vbawol 47 Posted April 15, 2007 I start the game and its just a black screen and an the mouse cursor showing its processing. If I wait a long time it finally loads the menu but all the textures are gone and everything is black or shades of grey. Installed it on my old AMD machine running vista 64 also and it works great not a single problem. Checked the arma.RPT file and it was huge (100mb) filled with: Error: Failed to create surface texture Error: Failed to create surface texture Error: Failed to create surface texture Error: Failed to create surface texture I have tried using compatibility mode, giving run as administrator and it changes nothing. vbawol 47 Posted April 21, 2007 FIXED I can confirm that ARMA has a problem with ATI drivers/card and multiple displays on vista 64. If you use two monitors the game will not load any textures and not work. I disabled my second monitor and it now works !! Can anyone else with two monitors confirm this? is it just ATI or Nvida also?
Kode 0 Posted April 21, 2007 I have 2 screens, and also an ati card(x700) But I don't have any problems at all running it with my second screen on. Of course, I'm also still using XP. Ever thought that it probably is because of the ati driver for vista and not the game?
vbawol 47 Posted April 21, 2007 Ya only on vista and with ATI x1900xtx driver version 7.4 and two LCD monitors. It maybe ATI drivers for vista but this is the only game out of a dozen that work perfectly fine with my setup. That leads me to think its the game.

That leads me to think its the game. i can verifiy that using multihead display setup under vista causes ArmA to fail loading textures!!! guess BIS has to do their homework REALLY QUICK!!! they cannot expect ppl downgrade their hardware enviroinment because they are not able to code.
