Thunnder Bunny 0 Posted April 2, 2007 The new deployable battle bases and exploring machines, that turn into remote bases. Let you build anywhere you want pretty much. But walls would really make a difference on deffence....even though some units could bypass them. Still, it might cut down on the base rape that can happen now One tip in skirmish: The moment you hear that 1 AI is dead, get ready for the victorious units to knock on your door next. It allows them to attack from totally different directions you didn't prepare for. And the Kane edition had a DVD of extras, limited # different boxes, and from what I've seen a different layout & other stuff. Not sure about the rest as I bought a bunch of other games at the same time...so I'll be busy for awhile:)
red oct 2 Posted April 3, 2007 I actually like this game. EA actually tried to make this game feel more like the C&C games that were developed by Westwood. you get the in-between movies, the world map where you pick your missions, and the challenging campaign. they finally tossed all the silliness that the EA C&C games had and made this more a serious game. the Nod units took me some getting used to. i wasn't to thrilled w/ the scorpion tank, looked a little to odd, but I've grown to like it. kinda wish they kept the Nod infantry and the cyborgs from tiberian sun, those guys were cool. instead, now they just have militants. this game is still well worth the purchase. runs great on modest machines too. Commando84 0 Posted April 3, 2007 hehe damn this game is good , i actually suprised myself trying to read every little bit of info that they thrown in here and there in the archives and intel stuff about the different units, news letters and small info stuff here and there. makes the game really feel alot more deep. Baff1 0 Posted April 7, 2007 Best one since the original. Lots of video links. More or less the same gameplay. A well made high budget game. Value for money included. "Welcome back Commander" For me this will have more lengevity than Supreme Commander, which is too boring. It's not so frantic as Company of Heroes. I think I will look to get into some multiplayer action with this one.
dm 9 Posted April 7, 2007 Also, why is it called kane Edition? Are there more than one edition to choose from, and if so, what's the difference? The same reasons you get UEF/Aeon/Cybran editions of Supreme Commander. 1. To add something "fancy" [which costs nothing] to entice people into buying it. 2. To extract more money from the fanbois (and gurls) who will buy one of each edition in order to be "completist" Its all about marketing.
Shashman 0 Posted April 7, 2007 Its all about marketing. Don't you mean "It's all about EA"?
