Pain-less 0 Posted March 18, 2007 I just received my copy of Armed Assault yesterday from goGamer. I installed it and like other here it would just not start. My pointer flickered for a second then nothing. I tried several times before I came to this forum looking for some answers, only to find several others with the same problem. So I downloaded the 1.05 EU patch and installed that also. The patch was successful and I tried starting up the game again. Nothing. After finding out this was copy protected by Securom, I found and downloaded the "no-cd, fixed.exe" for version 1.05. Now my copy of Armed Assault works. I had this same exact problem with GTR2 after patching and had to drop in the no-cd. I understand the developers need a way to protect their work, and I'm all for it. But with Securom the only people that get hurt are the paying customers, as you can see the hackers have already found a work around. So all the money that was spent on licensing Securom for Armed Assault has been thrown out the window. At this point you might as well remove the copy protection because it isn't working and save your money. I hope this helps others with this same problem. W0lle 1052 Posted March 19, 2007 Merged with this topic. Since your problem is the same there is no reason for starting another topic.
