Batstat 10 Posted March 4, 2007 Hi, Our NoPryl server is installed with the German CD, uppgradet to 1.02, modified with 6thSense language installer. Server stopped, backup files from PatchWise.bak copied over to Arma root dir, Arma_InternationalUpdate105 applied. Server started. Result: Only one person in the clan can connect to the server. He also can play on all other servers. He has done a clean install, and did not use files from PatchWise.bak. He has the german CD version, so he can do his reinstall when ever he wants. Me and NoBrainer can connect to the server and play when we use VPN, else not. We all can connect to other servers and play. NoBrainers has also done a clean reinstall, without using 6thSense language installer. We plan to do a Clean server install and then upgrade, but we do not understand why this hassel arise. Any who has the same problem, and solved the issue? Kind regards Batstat
nobrainer 0 Posted March 4, 2007 NoBrainers has also done a clean reinstall, without using 6thSense language installer. This is a clean install of the client and not of the server. Are there any new ports that needs to be open in or out of the firewall? There are 2 people I know that have played on our server, but most of us can't connect. We get the "connection failed" message.
SlurrpyChillyFries 0 Posted March 4, 2007 same here. i noticed in my firewall logs that when someone is having this connection problem, their client starts to port scan from the port the server is running on all the way up to 950 ports (thats when we killed the client). but i can connect to the server no problem on the inside of the firewall. do i need to handle new ports? 1.02 ran fine (still does) but 1.05 is a no go. ****i figured out my problem***** i had to allow port 27901 outbound. things to note: server runs on port 23020 port scanning starts at 23023 and continues to 23950 before we kill the client (these are being dropped by the firewall). ports 23020-23025 are being forwarded to the server from the firewall and allowed back out. 1.05 server both copies of arma are polish. server does report correctly in the browser from what i can tell. quad p3 server (compaq) 3 gigs of ram windows 200 server. Batstat 10 Posted March 7, 2007 There may be some bug involved here. People not able to connect using the build in browser are able to connect if they use Kegetys' ArmA Launcher. if the workaround work for all clan members and regular visitors, we have found a workaround we can live with. The issue still need attention/inspection from BIS. Hopefully the strange beahvoure will be adressed in a future improvment.
