Cerebral_Assassin 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Quick question: I am building my PC: my artic silver thermal paste was missing. CAN I run the PC for a couple of days w/o paste w/o hurting it??? Thanks

InsaneDruid 0 Posted March 2, 2007 I would NOT recommend it, as it MAY work with certain cpu/speed/cooler combinations, the risk of overheating and/or killing the cpu is quite high. Just use some cheap silicon paste or something.
MehMan 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Don't try it! Rather wait for the paste. Without the paste you can easly damage the CPU. Just wait for the paste, unless you have too much money and can afford another CPU.
echo1 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Definitely not, without the paste theres almost no contact between the CPU and the heatsink. It would heat up to dangerous levels really quickly. Best if you wait for a while.
