Thermal Paste and CPU

Quick question:

I am building my PC: my artic silver thermal paste was missing. CAN I run the PC for a couple of days w/o paste w/o hurting it???

I would NOT recommend it, as it MAY work with certain cpu/speed/cooler combinations, the risk of overheating and/or killing the cpu is quite high. Just use some cheap silicon paste or something.

Don't try it! Rather wait for the paste. Without the paste you can easly damage the CPU. Just wait for the paste, unless you have too much money and can afford another CPU.

Definitely not, without the paste theres almost no contact between the CPU and the heatsink. It would heat up to dangerous levels really quickly. Best if you wait for a while.

u dont want 2 do that before shit hits the fan. AS5 is not cheap for pasta i do use cheap pasta but on Q dont run whit out pasta ofcourse on the cpu fan is some pasta but thats cheaper then my sone on ur Q NO!!! dont use the comp before us have pasta .

i did it once and never i bougt a pentium D 915 and place it whitout pasta and it blast the hell out of the case fans ram and Videcard confused_o.gif
