GAU-8 0 Posted February 24, 2007 i dont know about upgrading your computer, but i can tell you that i did a reformat, on this p.c. and re-installed it using the original download i received ( after i placed it on my wifes computer during my reformat. then sent it back) i know sometimes installers dont like being moved from one computer to another. but ARMA did fine.( i am NOT talking about loading the game onto two different computers but paying for one "copy"!, just only moving the program installer download from computer to computer during the reformat.) jaffo 0 Posted February 24, 2007 I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the Cz and UK versions a couple of times without any problems. Or you could try moving the ArmA directory somewhere safe and export the registry key that contains the ArmA info. If you're running Win2K or later, you should be able to do a repair install and it won't touch your apps/games etc. I've upgraded mobo's about 3 times since XP came out and just done repair installs each time without a prob. Infam0us 10 Posted February 24, 2007 I'm thinking about upgrading my computer and have heard that I may have a difficult time re-installing Armed Assault.I have the Czech version. I have upgraded my Mobo and Graphics card since I installed ArmA and formatted my HDD about 5 times and it still installs. And like you I have the Czech version, the only trouble I had was the first time I tried to reinstall it and it wouldn't accept my code, but then I emailed then and the next day they said they had allowed my code to be used to reinstall after I explained what I did ... So nothing to worry about Also you might want to save the Install.exe for ArmA, I put mine on my portable HDD and saves having to download 3GB everytime
Corkey 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Right now I am considering buying ARMA from either sprocket or gamesplanet. Any suggestions as to which one more stable / usable? What is the highest version I can patch a Czech or German ARMA? Also, I may be upgrading to Windows XP64 bit, so how likely is it that I will be able to reinstall to my upgraded system? Â Lastly, is online activation required? I don't like to take my "good" machine online.

I myself have used Sprocket, and when I had trouble reinstalling the game they sent me a email solving the problem overnight. At the moment I'm running a 1.02 Czech version of the game, and yes online activation is required to get the game actually up and running. Reinstalling the game is fine, I myself have done it numerous times and the only problem I had was needing my key to be used for reinstallation so I emailed them telling I had reinstalled XP and they where fine, and it worked staight after!
