CmdGabriel 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Hi, I german forum people tell that bad performance is due to the copyprotection and there are different copy protections in different countries. Is the English version better than the German one? Lots of Germans would by a English version then... Regards Gabriel
NeMeSiS 11 Posted January 28, 2007 That bug was fixed in the very first patch, Czech version has starforce, German version has securom, 505 version probably has securom too.

Regards Gabriel Yes the problem was solved on the day of the release I think though the patch by Morphicon. And there will be no performance problem with 505 Im sure. Jack-UK 0 Posted January 28, 2007 The new patch will not be a 'miracle patch'. Im afraid to say that this game is very hardware intensive, as i've said before, its ahead of its time for glitch free movement on absolute max (8800 GTX comes close with a decent rig though). It will not mean that all specs will run the game, im afraid you've gotta have at least a high mainstream rig to get it running well. If not, be prepared to run it on minimal and not with the most tasty FPS ever...
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted January 28, 2007 You should maybe tell us your system specs so we are able to tell you if your system is powerful enough or not, which would mean you would have to get a stronger one.

You are of course right. But I know, that I need a better system (my old is about 4 years old..). I just wanted to know if I have to buy a "Super-Duper-High-Ende-GTX-XZY-HIGH-Performance"-Computer or if "just a new computer" will do it. The discussion I see now leads me to - some kind of new Intel CPU - ATI X19nn DirectX9 - 2 GB RAm Does it really make sense to buy a NVidia GTX8800 DirectX 10 now? (I think, noone uses DirectX10 and in a few years DirectX10 Cards will be much cheaper) Any recommondations? Regards Alex
max power 21 Posted January 29, 2007 No it doesn't make any sense to buy an 8800 gtx. They say they are dx10 compatible, but nothing is out that really does anything with dx10, and those cards don't even work with vista straight out of the box! Nvidia shovelled those things out the door so they could get a '1st in class' appellation. If you're going to get a dual core card, I would wait to compare the upcoming offerings of ATI and Nvidia's comparable cards. Let these 1st generation dual core cards be snapped up by the people who can afford to take a chance on them. Currently the x19xx's are nice... if it makes sense for you to upgrade immediately, go for it. I wouldn't break your bank on some foetal technology, though. Get the best of this last generation and save a few dollars, or save up until the next generation boards come out.
