Games crashes when activating HW Acceleration

-crashes when activating in in game

-when activating hw acceleration over the user config file it crashes when loading a map/connecteing to server

the driver (version 5.12.1.639) is microsoft windows certified.

CMI8738/C3DX is the chipset

xp sp2 of course.

i dont have this problem in ofp 1.96.

Have you tried updating to the latest OpenAL and installing the latest chipset drivers? It solved some odd sound bugs for me.

The reason I asked was because a few people have attempted to run ArmA in Win2000. Now, I assuming the game is still playable without modifying the config file, correct?

Im only talking about switching HW acceleartion on which results in better fps due less calculation times for the cpu.

I don't know what to tell you, other than ArmA seems hit and miss with every system. I would suggest you follow the options Sniperwolf stated, and downloading the latest drivers available. At least attempt to uninstall the previous ones first then apply the new ones.

ok uninstalled old drivers of old soundcard which i found (GAY CREATIVE)lol.

...and installed new ones which i only found by selecting a different (newer soundcard) which i dont got but drivers r compatible.

PROBLEM SOLVED.
