Hi i'm new here and have 2 questions

Recommended Posts

hello all,

i just installed ofp and now i have two questions and i hope someone can help me.

1. I always bind move forward to my right mouse button, but ofp doesnt do that?

2. What patches do i need to install because i see so many of them ( official too! ). Do i need to do it in any specific order?

These are the most important issues for me right now and i hope you can help me.

btw: i did a search for 'bind and forward' but it didnt come up.

also i looked at the faq's but didnt see it.

2. 1.00->1.2->1.3->1.4->1.42

you can use 1.10 if you want, it works without it tho smile.gif

You also don't need 1.40 to upgrade from 1.30 to 1.42. As the 1.42 patch README states: "Upgrade 3 or 4 is required before running this patch".

So, if your CD is the original international version 1.00, your upgrade path is 1.00>1.20>1.30>1.42.

If your CD is the North American version 1.20, your upgrade path is 1.20>1.30>1.42.

Search The FAQ for "mouse button".

To tell you the truth, I don't know if that FAQ item is up-to-date, as I personally never wanted to remap my mouse buttons.

Can anyone correct me if mouse buttons can be remapped and as of what OFP version was this corrected?

I accidently remaped the mouse keys, well i actually just added more commands to the mouse keys as i had just got the game & had no idea of the interface & i was mucking around. Just do the mouse action wanted for action when keystroke requested for the action. Remember to remove actions already on those mouse actions.

just a quick question, do i also need that trabbant stuff? or any other add-on which isnt a 'real' version patch?

For example, if i dont have them installed , and i connect to a server where someone is (lets say) driving the trabbant, will i then get a download from that server? ( <- cuz thats annoying innit? )

so bluntly, do i really need the cars and other extra's if they're not included in the official patches?

I would install all official addons, if I were you - even the Trabbant, etc.

Regarding user made addons, only install those that:

1. are reliable and the player community has gotten support from the addon maker.

2. are of interest to you. Don't collect them like ashtrays. biggrin.gif

3. are required by MP severs you want to play on. Do not overlook point 1, above, just because of this.
