I have turned of my firewall......... When I do eventually get into a game server, it freezes my whole computer up   Has anybody else been having this problem? sickboy 13 Posted December 13, 2006 You turned your firewall off you said? Did you check for extra firewalls? Many ppl install their own custom firewall on top of windows xp sp2 built in firewall...or they forget that their antivirus or network monitoring tool product aswell contains a firewall, Then they turn off their custom firewall product but the windows firewall is still on Make sure the arma process is allowed in all of the firewalls :P Some firewalls remain active, even after disabling them!! So really make sure all is allowed in such firewall or back up your firewall settings and really UNINSTALL ur firewall product(s) to see if it has anything to do with it, don't forget to reinstall it afterwards, or get another/newer product (version) Also, nvidia chipsets have built in firewalls, in the early days there was said that they caused many times problems, so in general it was better to not install the driver/software for it, when you install the chipset drivers..... No Placebo I have nothing like their warnings but like I say I dont even see that far as my PC just goes lame and freezes & this is usually when I have joined multiplayer and am playing the game..... Oh well, if at first you dont succeed, try try again.
